Just stumbled across this. Very thought provoking. God is dealing with me about increasing my faith in a very personal God. This made me think of Luke 18:8. "When the Son of Man comes, will He find persistence in faith on the earth?"

Well, I posted your question on my Facebook status for 2 days. No takers. I even posted on it what God was speaking to my heart, and no response. What kind of condition is the church in anyway, the whole Bride of Christ? To not say anything when you have the opportunity to share? You are definitely right. It probably freaked them out and they couldn't say because they didn't know. Well, I'm taking what God is speaking to my heart and running with it. God bless, Pastor Jim. I can't get there for any services, but I listen to the sermons when they are posted. Thanks for that ministry for people like me who can't get there, but still want to hear you and your sharing God's Word.

I am so grateful you allowed God to invade your happy little life with those challenging questions :) Though I am far from understanding the full magnitude of the times we're living in - I am unreservedly pursuing complete obedience to His will and His plans, and have a strong desire for deep intimacy with the Lord. I cannot begin to express my gratitude that we are planted in a church that supports and encourages that lifestyle.

I remember the first time I heard you say that we shouldn't be hearing "new" things during the weekend services, but rather they should be confirming things the Lord has already been speaking to us. It was a foreign concept to me when you first said it, but over the past few years as God's messed with many of us I find it happening more and more. I love how the Spirit of God moves!

I continue to pray for wisdom and revelation for you as you lead this flock - you are a blessing to so many - thank you :)

First of all, congratulations on the upcoming baby! You probably better get a life raft to get into for the estrogen pool that may turn into an estrogen ocean or entire gulf. HA!
Your question was, "What has God been speaking to you lately?" God has been speaking to me to study prayer--very in-depth. I know this isn't some week or two week long study. This may very well be my whole summer if not longer. Fine with me. I am learning a lot and believe I will continue to learn and grow in this area as I study. I'm reading every book I can get my hands on about prayer, without the mystical aspect to it. I'm watching who the authors are and scrutinizing the reviews and comments on the cover before I read them. I'm also finding myself so drawn to the old hymns written about 100 years ago or further back. Finding power in those words. They are like prayers to God unto themselves. My prayer life is growing and changing, and I'm finding myself really waiting on Him to direct my prayers instead of just putting my time in, praying what I want to pray for, and then going on with my day. I believe I'll post your question on my Facebook status and see who answers and who doesn't and what is on people's hearts. Very curious myself to see an answer to this question out there. God bless you as you continue to seek Him with your whole heart.

I've reread this one several times because I find it painfully true. Even for those who are trying to live to know Him and make Him known it is still far too easy to get sucked into the distractions.

As I read through the word this past summer, I was struck by how many times God expressed that He simply wants us to be His people and Him to be our God... it truly is His heart cry. It should be ours as well.
